March 20, 2018Five reasons to move into an assisted living community early
May 2, 2018Making the choice to leave your home and enter assisted living isn’t always easy. How do you know if an Ohio assisted living community is right for you?
Like any real estate decision, making this big move can come with questions and uncertainty. However, there are some easy ways to tell if an Ohio assisted living community is a good fit.
If you or a loved one is looking for an Ohio assisted living community, here are four ways to tell it’s a good fit. Read on:
Location
Leaving one’s home and moving into assisted living can be a happy time or it can be a challenge. However, one thing that can make the transition easier and happier for all is choosing a place with a familiar location. Being near shops, parks and other amenities that are familiar helps with the transition. Also, being close to friends and family means people can drop in for visits easier.
Price
No one wants to struggle to pay the bills, so considering price is a big factor when shopping for an assisted living community. Luckily, great communities exist at all price points, so make sure to set a budget and stick with it – and be clear when you are touring communities about what you can spend.
Amenities
One of the biggest perks of moving to assisted living are the amenities. Each person is unique and has special amenities they’d love to see, so make a list of what is important and check them off as you tour communities. If you need fantastic dining, for example, make sure to have a meal in each community you tour.
The future
While you or your loved one might be spry now, things can and do change. Make sure you choose an assisted living community with an eye to the future. What does this mean? Many communities offer different levels of care and assistance, meaning as you or your loved one ages, the level of care available can change.
While you or your loved one might not need assistance (or something like memory care) now, that could change in the future.
