Abbington of Pickerington Assisted Living
February 3, 2015February Fun at Abbington of Pickerington Assisted Living
March 24, 2015February brought some frigid days, but everyone at Windsorwood Place – Coshocton Assisted Living managed to stay warm and have fun. The key is to keep moving, that’s why almost every day includes optional exercise activities. And they’re never repetitive. One day it may be Range of Motion Exercise, and the next it may be Yoga Exercise. We even had Chair Dancing Exercise. Ever tried that before? Well, it’s a blast. Never too late to try new things, especially at Windsorwood Place – Coshocton Assisted Living.
Wear yourself out the first couple days? Carol offers soothing massages for only $5 per appointment. Who wouldn’t want to pamper herself for just $5? The cold can get you down. But exercise is scientifically proven to improve your mood. That’s why we keep it moving at Windsorwood Place – Coshocton Assisted Living.
But it doesn’t stop with physical improvement. At Windsorwood Place – Coshocton Assisted Living, we like to stay sharp mentally, emotionally, and spiritually if you are so inclined. The afternoon of the 9th we had a program on winter blues and self-esteem with Mary McCune. Everyone gets a little down from time to time, especially when the days are short and dark and cold. It’s easy to forget that there are a lot of things to enjoy and the sunny days are right around the corner. Another uplifting activity we make available at Windsorwood Place – Coshocton Assisted Living is Bible Study. Many of our residents participate. It’s a chance to learn, discuss, and grow while being reminded of the values that formed the strong person you are.
Sometimes the best cure for the winter blues is some good, old-fashioned, light-hearted fun. That’s why at Windsorwood Place – Coshocton Assisted Living we enjoyed all kinds of fun activities including six different Bingo nights, which are always a favorite of the residents. Other fun activities include Movies & Popcorn, Pies & Ice Cream, and musical performances such as The Country Mix Band and Co-mus Hills String Pickers. We even had a Valentine’s Day Party! Love was in the air…
Probably the most depressing aspect of winter can be that cabin fever we get from being cooped up inside. Of course, no one wants to be cold, but sooner or later, you’ve got to get out there and see the town, remind yourself that the world is still turning and people are going about their business. That’s why the last Friday of the month, Windsorwood Place – Coshocton Assisted Living had a lunch outing. Everyone was happy to be out and about. It reminded us that the active season of spring is right around the corner.
Along with all the fun, we make sure to stay mindful of our health with Health Talks and programs on heart health. We’ve got it all covered at Windsorwood Place – Coshocton Assisted Living. It’s a fun, wholesome experience where we believe you’re never done growing. Check back to see what we were up to in March.
