February was fun at Windsorwood Place – Coshocton Assisted Living

April 27, 2015February brought some frigid days, but everyone at Abbington of Pickerington Assisted Living managed to stay warm and have fun. The key is to keep moving, that’s why almost every day includes optional exercise activities. And they’re never repetitive. One day it may be Group Walk, and the next it may be Morning Stretch. For a little more rigorous challenge there’s Exercise with Abby. That really gets the blood flowing. At Abbington of Pickerington Assisted Living, we like to stay fit.
Wear yourself out the first couple days? Relax with a visit from one of the therapy dogs, or even a nice Soothing Hand Massage. That’ll relieve the pain in anyone’s joints. The cold can get you down. But exercise is scientifically proven to improve your mood. That’s why we keep it moving at Abbington of Pickerington Assisted Living.
And ladies, don’t forget to pamper yourselves. At Abbington of Pickerington Assisted Living our Hair Salon is open Thursday mornings with manicures often right after. Who doesn’t like to look their best?
But it doesn’t stop with physical improvement. At Abbington of Pickerington Assisted Living, we like to stay sharp mentally, emotionally, and spiritually if you are so inclined. Everyone gets a little down from time to time, especially when the days are short and dark and cold. It’s easy to forget that there are a lot of things to enjoy and the sunny days are right around the corner. For spiritually uplifting activities we offer Church service and Bible study to our residents. Many of our residents participate. It’s a chance to learn, discuss, and grow while being reminded of the values that formed the strong person you are.
Sometimes the best cure for the winter blues is some good, old-fashioned, light-hearted fun. That’s why at Abbington of Pickerington Assisted Living we enjoyed all kinds of fun activities including Bingo nights, which are always a favorite of the residents. Families are welcome! Other fun activities include a Movies Matinee every Sunday and musical performances such as The Mahaffey Piano Students. We even had a Valentine’s Day Party with strawberry sundaes! Love was in the air…
Probably the most depressing aspect of winter can be that cabin fever we get from being cooped up inside. Of course, no one wants to be cold, but sooner or later, you’ve got to get out there and see the town, remind yourself that the world is still turning and people are going about their business. That’s why we took several days to make it out to the grocery store, the bank, and even just out for lunch. Everyone was happy to be out and about. It reminds us that the active season of spring is right around the corner.
Along with all the fun, we make sure to stay mindful of our health with Heart Heath Awareness activities. Abbington of Pickerington Assisted Living is a safe, fun, and wholesome experience where we believe you’re never done growing. Check back to see what we were up to in March.
