Residents are Grateful for an Active Assisted Living Community in Columbus

Thanksgiving is a special time at Abbington Assisted Living in Columbus, Chillicothe, Coshocton,  Powell, Pickerington and Upper Arlington. A special Thanksgiving meal is hardly the only reminder of this season of gratitude at Abbington! Our staff plans a number of activities during November, and on Thanksgiving Day, our residents may choose to join in a communal viewing of the Macy’s Parade. After the parade, we are hosting Thanksgiving Bingo, followed by more game choices in the afternoon.

Throughout the month we celebrate the things we are thankful for, including resident’s birthdays, special volunteers and our caring staff. In November and every month, we have trips planned to local restaurants and shops; and we plan religious services and studies to support the spiritual life and traditions of our residents. Abbington Assisted Living is about much more than providing a place to live with services. Our Assisted Living in Columbus and the surrounding areas is about building community, creating new relationships, and making the most of a relaxing life during our residents’ golden years.

We are thankful for our residents, who share so much of themselves and their interests and knowledge. We are thankful for our experienced and caring staff, who build relationships with everyone living in our assisted living communities. We are grateful to the families of the residents, who visit and enrich the lives of everyone at Abbington.

As November draws to a close, we are excited to prepare for the Christmas and winter holidays. Our residents are already planning their door decorating contest ideas!

As we do every month, we invite residents to a planning meeting so they can share their ideas for activities that fit with the season.
