About Us

Abbington’s mission is to enhance the independence and quality of life of each resident by providing care with respect, compassion and dignity in a safe, comfortable environment.

Abbington was founded in the mid 1990’s and is privately owned out of the Columbus, Ohio area.  Each Abbington community is an independent business entity.  Abbington assisted living communities are managed by Abbington Management Corp, located in Dublin, Ohio. We are very proud to be a local, privately owned company, with a focus on respect for residents and staff.

Abbington offers personalized care plans tailored to each resident’s needs. Whether it’s help with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, medication management, or mobility, our trained and caring staff is available 24/7 to provide support while promoting independence. We focus on creating a warm, homey environment where residents can maintain their dignity and pursue their interests through a variety of social, recreational, and wellness activities.

Ohio Medicaid Waiver Program

All of the Abbington assisted living communities are approved and certified by ODA to provide the basic assisted living service under the Ohio Medicaid Assisted Living Waiver program. This is a great comfort to residents that may be exhausting their funds over time. The Ohio Medicaid Waiver Program may enable residents to continue to live in an Abbington community after private pay funds have been exhausted (as long as Abbington is able to meet your health and wellness needs).

For more information on the Assisted Living Medicaid Waiver Program, please visit your local Area Agency on Aging website. In Columbus and surrounding areas (http://www.coaaa.org). In Chillicothe (http://www.aaa7.org). In Coshocton (http://aaa9.org).

Abbington is accepting ALW applications for individuals who are enrolling in the assisted living program or mycare Ohio.  Please contact the specific Abbington location directly for more information.

Fair Housing Statement

Each Abbington Assisted Living Community supports both the letter and spirit of the fair housing laws of the United States of America. The Federal Fair Housing Act makes it illegal to advertise “any preference, limitation, or discrimination because of race, color, religion, sex, handicap, familial status, or national origin, or intention to make such preference, limitation or discrimination.” Applicable state and local laws may also make it illegal to advertise any preference, limitation or discrimination based on age, citizenship, marital status, military discharge status, presence of minor children, pregnancy, sexual preference, and other personal characteristics.
